This album was recorded between January and September 2017, during what has been one of the most painful and challenging years of my life. But emotional turmoil makes for good songwriting inspiration, and so I recorded these 31 songs in 9 months without giving it much thought. Some of these tunes were recorded in classrooms, some in my wife's family's garage, and many in my parked 2007 Honda Accord as per usual. The confining circumstances of my daily life have always bolstered my resolve to continue doing Grim Deeds, sometimes purely out of spite. But overall the songs have a therapeutic effect - writing them, recording them, and sharing them provides a feeling of satisfaction that is rare to find elsewhere in my life. And I do have a good life - much to be thankful for in fact, but in general it's hard to be a human being on planet Earth. So to those who've taken interest in what I do, I salute you with a mighty "HAILS!" and hope that you too have an outlet that somehow soothes and satisfies the savage beast within.
